I am a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and am Studying Retail Merchandising and Management through the College of Design and Carlson School of Management.
I am the president of Fashion & Business on the University of Minnesota Campus. This student group is just as it sounds, the mix of fashion, apparel design, networking, business tours, and fashion shows and initiatives throughout Minneapolis. I also helped start this fall the National Retail Federation Student Association through the College of Design at the U of M. The National Retail Federation (NRF) has amazing company executives on its board of directors, and is constantly informing and updating the general public as to what is going on in the retail world. I had the opportunity to go to New York this January for the NRF’s Big Show and hear fashion and retail leaders such as Rebecca Minkoff, Karen Katz (Neiman Marcus CEO), Mindy Grossman (HSN CEO), and Heidi O’Neill (Nike President of Direct to Consumer). I also am a Mentor for Project Diva. Project Diva helps inner city middle school students connect with a mentor, and help them develop their passion for something in fashion. They present their work at a big style show in April, I cannot wait.
I also have been doing some modeling for the past four years starting for the University of Minnesota apparel design shows, Privileged Model Management, and then just connecting with photographers online and through Instagram. I also love to blog, and usually just have my friends take photos for this. My blog is MeganandMinneapolis.com. I also blog for College Fashionista, SquadFeed, Twin Minney our student group blog, and am a co-editor for the Midwest Model of the Week which we are currently creating a magazine for. I just modeled in the Radisson Red Hotel Opening, was the host for the Twin Cities Film Industry Mixer’s Pre-Oscar Party, and will be in a sustainability fashion show, and am very excited to be the host for lasting impressions!
