The two shelves featured are supposed to be corner shelves that stack on top of each other, hence the odd shape to them. Creativity came into place as I decided where they should go, knowing I would deviate from the instructions. I decided to place them next to the rolling rack of clothes.
The aesthetic in my room is very name brand oriented with hues of blacks, golds, and pinks. I decided that I wanted to display some clothing tags in a symmetrical form. I have featured Versace, Tory Burch, Rachel Zoe, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Joie, Phillip Lim 3.1, Valentino, and Gucci. Working at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, as well as pursuing around some sample sales in New York is how I have been able to get these pieces at a discount. To finish off the display I added a polaroid of myself in Soho walking past Chanel. Although walking in there I couldn’t fathom spending that much on a college budget, I always look back at that photo as study motivation. Someday working my way up the corporate ladder, those items will be in my possession.
As for the NY letters, these light up and were purchased at Target. I also have some pops of Kate Spade with the gold monogram necklace, and the stainless steel flask. The rose gold look of Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb complements the Kate Spade necklace, and the light pink flower. This also contrasts against the black Saks Fifth Avenue pin, and Valentino card. The tall jar is also from Target. I took off the cork top to it, and filled it up with pink gumballs on the bottom, and various straws to fill the vase. The Chanel image sits below and completes the display. The image was purchased off of Amazon.
Get creative! Use random items around your room to put on display. I love to change my displays every few months to keep things fresh, and incorporating any new items I may have purchased.
